IPPSA has been formed to accelerate the knowledge base and application of advanced planning and scheduling technologies. Our mission is to provide an awarness of the benefits in moving to Finite Capacity Scheduling (FCS) or Advanced Planning and Scheduling (APS) technologies.

Worldwide competition has elevated planning and scheduling to a paramount position of importance as indicated by the demand for accurate schedules, short cycle times, and predictable delivery. Infinite capacity scheduling "when real world capacity is not infinite" produces invalid answers. Remaining competitive in the ever-evolving technical marketplace will require implementing planning and scheduling systems capable of producing accurate operational projections and responsive management decisions support.
